At Querencia, we believe that stories are powerful. Not only the stories we tell, passed on from generation to generation—but the stories we create.
The story of Querencia begins with the landscape. The slope of the mountain runs into the flowing sea, telling a story of unfolding, growth and change. The natural life that occupies the community tells a story of resilience. The landscape of San Jose del Cabo is what originally captivated those individuals who would go on to create Querencia.
When looking out over the expansive yet welcoming landscape you feel at home. Querencia’s founders knew from the moment they saw the land that here is where they wanted to be. They wanted to share this place with others.

(n.) A place from which one’s strength is drawn, where one feels at home; the place where you are your most authentic self
From our origins onward, we knew we were building more than just homes. We were building a community in mind, body and spirit—a lifestyle rooted in a sense of adventure, enveloped by the beauty of the Baja. Those drawn to Querencia come from many walks of life but are united by the adventurous desire to be a part of something bigger than themselves.
“This is not a resort —it’s a way of life. Querencia is a true community where families and friends gather to experience the best life has to offer.”
Time and time again our Homeowners and Members come together and show their commitment to nurturing a sense of belonging within Querencia and the local community. From collective philanthropic endeavors to speakers series to community gatherings at the Clubhouse, the idea of togetherness has been the principal theme of Querencia’s 24 years of stories.
As we continue to grow and evolve, we will continue to weave our own stories within both the community of Querencia and the greater community.
“Our goal is to continue to improve the community and raise the bar. We want to exceed the expectations of our Members, offering them experiences they’ll be telling stories about for years to come.”
