For our Members, Querencia has earned a reputation for offering diverse and engaging activities for all generations. Special events such as our Speaker Series set out to elevate our club conversation with meaningful topics through evenings of intellectual dialogue in a fun and engaging group setting. They are designed to provoke open dialogue and improve actions taken in the real world. Notable past speakers have included Mike Mulligan, Head of the Thatcher School, Pat McCrory, former South Carolina Governor, and Dinesh D’Souza, author, filmmaker and political commentator.
Querencia is more than a Fazio Signature Golf Course and a Beach Club. We are a community of diverse offerings and amenities which bring our members together.

Governor McCrory is a businessman, politician and radio host who was the longest serving mayor in Charlotte’s history, serving seven terms from 1995 to 2009, and served as the 74th Governor of North Carolina from 2013-2017.

Dr. Bill Cook is an accomplished professor, author, and humanitarian. He is the founder and president of Bill Cook Foundation, a charitable organization seeking to help some of the world’s poorest children to get the best education possible. The Foundation works in some of the world’s poorest countries and with the most disadvantaged children including orphans, refugees, and victims of discrimination.

Dinesh D’Souza is a bestselling author and filmmaker. His films, 2016: Obama’s America and America: Imagine A World Without Her, are respectively the #2 and #6 highest political documentaries of all time. D’Souza’s film Hillary’s America, is widely credited with contributing to Hillary Clinton’s defeat in 2016, and quickly joined his first two films in the top 10 political documentaries of all time.

A Querencia Member and oceanographer who started abalone culture and its preservation. A shipowner in the Pemex marine transportation industry, Mexico’s surfing pioneer, and an author. Ignacio is a direct descendant of the old Californios and Chairman of the binational initiative to rescue the legacy of the founders of the Californias.
